MasterChef India 7: Contestants Serve Chef Vikas Khanna Pizza Without Salt During A Farm-To-Table Challenge, Leaves Him Shocked
The latest episode of MasterChef India season 7 saw contestants being divided in two teams, participating in a farm-to-table challenge. Held in Anand, Gujarat, chef judges Garima Jain, Ranveer Brar and Vikas Khanna divided the nine contestants in two teams. The pink team led by Nayanjyoti and the yellow team led by Kamaldeep. Former contestant Baa joined the challenge as a guest who was a part of the pink team.

While the episode highlighted how the contestants had to improve the overall quality of the show, the judges were left dissatisfied by the underwhelming performances of the home cooks. Talking about the dishes served to the chefs, Khanna was shocked after team pink served him a pizza without salt or any seasoning. However the team managed to win the challenge because of the opposite team’s disappointing dishes. The chefs were left with a bad taste when team yellow presented them with a cauliflower dish where the vegetables were undercooked. Chef Brar points out that their dish lacked colour and seemed very dull on their plate. He then singles out Priyanka’s beetroot dessert which didn’t have any sugar and a lot of chillies. The only saving grace for the team seemed to be the seed cracker made by Suvarna. For the unversed, MasterChef is one of the most loved cooking shows on television. Apart from India, it also has a UK version, Australian version, Asian version and many other adaptations world-wide. The Indian version is currently on its seventh season and is facing a backlash from the audience for show favouritism. The cooking-based reality show had made it to the headlines when the judges had allowed Aruna Vijay to cook a fish based dish with paneer, because she is a vegetarian.
